Certification as anesthesia technologist and/or technician, demonstrates pride in the profession and the desire to be recognized for mastery the unique skills of an anesthesia technologist and/or technicians and the individual commitment to patient safety and quality of care.

Certification as anesthesia technologist and/or technician provides evidence that a certified individual meet the minimum national standards established by ASATT to practice as an anesthesia technician and/or technologist.

Certification is also becoming more often as a condition of employment and, a route to better compensation.
